right.. think i got the right forum!
I'm currently planning on building a new tank stand for my 55gal (oscars/GT's) and im planning on buying a slightly larger tank to stack above/below it probably something like..
20x20x48 (custom if i can afford, slightly smaller but similar dimensions if i cant)
I've always had a bit of a soft spot for wide bar datnoids, but i've never kept them before, so my basic question would be a tank of roughly 55-65gal be sufficient for a wide bar dat (or any datnoid really) the filtration i'd be using would be a home made trickle or a 1000gph pond filter.
so.. er less ramblin by me.. datnoid be alright in that size tank and what would be a suitable tank mate?

many thanks

It will be fine in there for a while.

They are slow growers. It will eventually out grow the tank though.

try nandus species or maybe ctenopoma acutirostre or weeksi. they are all pretty fun to keep and a bit Dat like.
