So I went to the city to get an endli or delhezi but ended up getting this perfectly healthy Senegal a guy was going to give to a store in Sac. I got the bichir free and bought a coral life twist UV with the extra cash. My fish are very happy now. Can anyone sex this fish ?
I know I promised these pics a long time ago I apologize. {Edit} he/she is 9" exactly at the time I adopted him or her

Nice Senegal, but yes...take a picture of the anal fin to get an ID on it's sex.

Just fed him and got a nice pic of a half silverside sticking out of his mouth. Yet ofcourse my camera cord is at work. lordy lordy
 
the males will have a wider anal fin then the females cause they pick the eggs up with the fin to fertilize the egg. if you do a search on sexing them you should find some helpful photos. it's hard to get good photos to give a good enough look to be really sure.

Thanks ! Yeah I upgraded the tank too. I had my other bichir in a 55 this is a 90 gallon (The 55 is still a growout for my little sens and friends). Hooked up my old eheim 2215 cause it was cycled(Got a new one for the 55) A fluval 404 and an ac110 and a top fin 60(For carbon really) on the 90. And the zebra rock I got a box of the stuff for 7 bucks at petsmart I really like the look. Problem is I am running quick cure on the tank and it kind of stained a few pieces of the zebra rock :irked:
