View Full Version : 4 Line Catfish

I just bought this catfish from the LFS it was called "4 Line catfish", does this cat have any other name I can't find anything about it.
It's dark silver in color and has extremely long whiskers (2) 4" whiskers pointed upwards and (2) 3" whiskers pointed downward, his body is at most 5inches........I'll try to get pics as soon as I can
I don't know if it has another name but I had one for a while and it ate other fish at an amazing rate. It ate an upside down catfish half its size. Use caution with other fish in the tank.

i have a four lined pictus catfish. it is pretty cool ...kind of mean. never ate any tank mates though. it does not have a big enough mouth to eat any fish over a couple inches

very aggressive catfish and fits well with the most aggressive cichlids. Does a great job cleaning the bottom for food, and excels at fin nipping.....I really like them when they are big and fat, they are very cool. When they fight with other fish, they make a croaking sound - How do I know? he is fighting all the time, and makes that sound...all of mine did They are really active at night - so much so if other fish cant hang they will get stressed out real quick, or get beaten up by the 4-line of other pictus cats...
Yup its a four lind pictus i have 2
I had one around 5 inches or more and it grew fast. It kept fighting with my sun cat so after some months I returned him to the lfs. It never ate any feeder guppies or ghost shrimp.
