Only thing that I am afraid that if i breed red texas using green texas and a king kong parrot, the red texas will turn out to be parrot mouth or parrot head, is this possible? or they will be normal like the result of green texas+red devil?
By the way, kk parrot will bred redier texas than blood or regular parrots right?

Your not going to red texas that way. These guy in Asia have it down to a science. 1 out of every 1000 or so are red. the rest are sold as culls, or cheap red texas that never turn red

thanks mike. but will at least 1 fry be redish? i just came from local pet store, employees said thet could not determine male/female green texas or kk parrot. male green texas has a black thing in its grill like convicts. And i could not see blunt or pointy tube either.

you may not get any fully peeled red ones. what you do is take the best ones and breed the males back to parrot. and take the best females back to texas. then breed the offspring of these two together. then you should have something

Mike is on the right page bro... FishRoomPlus is just talking nonsense... Female kkp to male carpintis or esco... take most red male back to the kkp mom and you will line breed from there to achieve the best % of nice frys...

what about red terror? can i have an 1 inch red terror in breeder tank?
planning to get 1 kkp, 2 texas b/c i dunno gender, and 1 female red terror, all inch red terror slightly bigger, and 4 inch kkp.
can anyone give me few tips on sexing kkp and texas? all their vent look pointed at 4 inches for kkp, and 1 inch texas, how do i tell? black thing in its gill?

red terror won't work. because its not really RED and it doesn't fade.

i wonder why fade? after red parrots faded, they look orange. if red texas fade, it will turn orange-ish instead of red?

If soo easy, the srt would be worth $20, not $200-$400. since its 1000:1 that you might get one that is red. The prices are high and the breeding projects are a bust:cry:

i like red color, its very nice already. i love it more than super red. some super red might have been injected pigments like parrots did.

I never said it was a simple process bud... Mike is correct in how they r bred tho... You will only get 1 or 2 SRT and if lucky maybe 10 RT and the rest are culls...

ok kids.......heres there deal.
you breed your nice pearled out great body with good fins texan to a RED female and thats it.....

the rest is selective breeding/breeding back that takes forever.
as stated its almost 1 out of ALOT of fry that you MIGHT get some good fader genes, but not the body or color even your looking for.

iv bred them for years and most the time your NOT going to get a 1st gen as nice as the one posted.

but again you have to be super patient.

And could u tell me how do i sex them? its really hard to tell as all vents seem pointy..
