thats a good question !!! know they like blood worms, daphnia, brine shirmp (all frozen) and good quality flakes......

am also wondering if they are best being put into a mature tank - that's say been cycled for a while or can u put them straight in once cycle has finished???

Yeah, mine eats bloodworms, shrimp, mysis, beefheart and flakes..

There are three different species of Pterophyllum:
P. scalare
P. altum
P. leopoldi

Yes to both. Either one works.

I even use healthy mature Angels to cycle tanks.

They will get fat on live white worms and breed like crazy!

i feed my angels white worms,blood worms,misis shrimp,brine shrimp, krill, ocasional beef heart(all frozen) they also have plants in the tank to eat and get pellets i also feed live ghost shrimp and black worms the temp on my tank is usually between 79 - 82 F
