What if you provided powerheads to fish that live in calm waters?

I have 4 severums and 2 uaru's in my 240.

I put 2 powerhead aquaclear 70's on the bottom of each corner of the tank. These pumps were placed to push waste to the center of my tank where the overflow is located.

Also my 2 return pumps from my wet/dry are also placed near the top of my tank on each end. These return pumps are just pushing water on top of my tank.

So I read that severums and uaru's live in pretty calm waters. Do you guys think I have way too much water flow for a 8ft x 2ft x 2ft tank? Would it kill the fish or cause it stress?

i would just keep an eye on them and see how they react.
can you turn the flow down a bit as i have 2 1000lph pumps and have them turned down half way and it still moves the waste from the bottom and my pumps are at the top of the tank

i have the same power heads they do have a flow control on them just turn it down a lil and you should be fine

If they are captive bred they probably will adapt fine.

As long as there are still calm areas like under or around the powerheads or behind decorations ect... it will be fine. It is good exercise for them :D

i have one n my snakhehead tank. and fron what i read they live in pretty calm waters as well. He's doing fine tho

I guess that even though you have powerheads set up in your tank, there will always be a dead spot that they can go to, unless you have one pointing in every single direction.
And plus i think that fish will adapt to their habitat over time.

I don't think you will have any troubles.
