LFS just got some baby silver aro's with the yolk sack still attatched. 10 bucks each. good deal?

i would think so but the survival rate might be slim
its an ok deal but its really risky

Their 10 bucks if it were to die it's not like your out 50 bucks or more. Go for it!

I paid $20 for my silver with yolk 4 wks ago now shes 5 inches.

If you have no idea what you are doing, no amount of money is a "good deal"
Baby silvers are fragile and have specific requirements, seems that the average aquarists can't provide.

I bought an arowana for 10 bucks and he still had his yolk sac. It is not that hard to keep them alive at that stage. mine just fed off of his yolk sac for 3 weeks. Now he is seven inches and eating fd krill and granules.

Well either you have an idea of what you are doing or you just got lucky. Seems though if you you take a look through the threads here on MFK. There are too many baby aros lost to jumping, improper acclimation, unstable water parameters and gravel vac accidents. So obviously this fish seems to be more for the experienced aquarist.

i actually agree that theyre still pretty easy to keep at that size...
even though they may not be as hardy as the big ones,ive never lost one that small because of water problems or whatever.
all the time i had any baby aro losses,it was because of another tankmate.

I agree :) they cost like 400bux in aust for one so why do you need to confirm if its a good deal :P
