They are from Texas, right? So higher temps are acceptable? My wife wants angels. I think longingly on the prospect of possessing Sunfish. My LFS thinks they have ordered some. We'll see what they actually are tomorrow night. But on topic, could they cohab? I'd think so, from what I've read. Just looking for input.

I dunno with the temps. I think it'll work but sunfish can be on the aggressive side.

What size tank are you talking about? I ask because my longears each set themselves of a section of the tank that they guard jealously, and will aggressively go after anything that enters their turf. My longears dominate over fish that are a bit larger than themselves as well. Since angels tend to school up and swim back and forth, I think you'll end up with some tore up angel fish.

I'll have three distinct areas split up by potted plants, and probably some floating plants on one side, too. It's a 60 tall, so I should hope each fish could find a place to pace...
I have the sunfish in a 15 tall now. I think I'll introduce him after the angels to give them a better grip on the situation. Although angels can be aggressive, they aren't as fiercely territorial, are they?

Okay, okay. Just kidding. So, is it worth trying at least? If he doesn't work with the angels, I could try him with my Oscar... Or set up a 30 long for him.
I wouldn't risk the angels. P. altum might be able to hold their own with sunfish, but I would expect normal angels (P. scalare) to be beaten up regularly. Longears can work with fast-moving community fish such as cyprinids or tetras provided they are too big to fit in the sunfish's mouth.
