2nd go around for my gold male and bg female , last spawn got eaten by male when they were wigglers . This time around i pulled the female and eggs to a seperate 25 tall tank . I lost about half of the eggs to fungus , but have around 40 free swimming fry .
Blue Gene x Gold
Resulting fry will be .... 100% Gold Gene (50% will also carry the Blue Gene)

They both look nice to me but I don't think you will get 50% blue gene more like 10-20%

i have yet to witness a real gold Dempsey in person... but not bad looking... as fish get bigger.. they all look ugly... just like people... lol...
Arowana's are good example.. rarely do they look good when they become giants..

this guy is far from ugly . on his days when he is feeling his oats and in spawn mode he has the coolest looking gold coloring . but no offense taken , everyone has there own likes and dislikes . me i cant stand the look of frontosas .

I thought the gold gene was recessive. I could be wrong... but that would make most of them blue with a few gold? Some more pictures when they get bigger would be nice.
Congrats on the babies, I hope they make it.
