What's the growth rate like on these suckers? I want to pick one up but don't have a big tank setup yet. I was thinking of keeping it in a 75 for a bit?

I have 30 of them, swimming in a 33!

A 75 would be a PENTHOUSE (at least for a year).

I've listened to you all speak of what to do,and what you would do, but in reality could you really eat one of your pets, your pup perhaps no of course not you take it hard and move on but they'll live pretty happily in a 300gal. I'm originally from maryland but living in phoenix az now and though it took some time and searching I've had three and have two left, anything could happen at anytime ,however in this little guys case he had intestinal, problem where as he just would not get larger and I had pulled him from the tank and his buddies and he'd all but given up put him back in the larger tank and he had hung on for three more days and then...he flipped. The other two had doubled plus in size, and when I had replaced him thenew baby was actually larger and he was four month old. and they had been raised on a flake food from the distrbuter. anyway way that's my story I'll try to post pic's for you guys to see, I also have dats, arowana's, gynarchus (aba aba) redtail cats etc.

Dang, a baby pima already looks like a monster fish; not like the jar minnow I am raising. Good luck to all of you that buy these. Wish I had a tank big enough for one.

I had my pima go from 4" to over 2ft in less then 6 months. They get huge and in 1 year will easily reach 30"+
