If you have the equipment, knowhow and tank dedication it takes, they are by far a way cool creature to watch and some will even interact with you. Awesome looking pic also.

I’m not positive but I remember reading there life expires at the most 4 or so years.
I was planning to get one a long long time ago but then I found out how long they lived and that’s what made me not get one.
Sweet:naughty: Awesome octopus.

I ordered an octopus!!!!!!! it will be hear in a few days!!! Its not a mimic but its an octopus!!!!!!!
I also ordered a hippo tang for another one of my saltwater tanks!!:naughty:
CONGRATS!
BUT........
I hope you are ready. Octo's are probably the best escape artists in the hobby and most keepers silicone glass tops right to the tank and have small locking openings for maintenance, feeding, ect.
Also ammonia, nitrate, and nitrates must be kept at ZERO. These inverts are VERY delicate.
Most agree that 1 year is considered long term for one of these animals.
I have seen a couple that were killed by being sucked into the filter/overflow so be prepared.
On the plus side they are truly amazing animals to observe and are rewarding animals to keep.
ENJOY...........pics please!

I will get pics as soon I can. I was just putting my octopus proof cap back on my tank. the tank is perfect for an octopus. Nirite 0 all the parlements are set. Just waiting for arival ware i will drip acclimate him. its only going to be about 5 inches from arm to arm. he will chill out in my 30 gallon and then be upgraded as he grows. My last octopus loved his 30 gallon and i couldent get him out. he was about 9 inches from tentical to tentical. he set a den wright in the middle of the auarium ware he would snag crabs that walked by. coolest thing ever thats why im sdo exited! I also cant wait to see my new hippo tang (the fish that played dory in "Finding nemo"). everythings falling into place. I ordered him from www.thepetplace.com I cant wait!

I’m really happy for you.. :) Sometimes I wonder whether the ordering of the fish/octopus is more exacting then riding a rollercoaster.
Well you get the idea. ;) GL
