Saw him at a local aquarium...
anyone knows what he is?
It's a Paratilapia sp. small spot, aka Paratilapia polleni, a Madagascan cichlid that maxes out around 10 inches. Very cool fish!

definitely another small/midsized cichlid I'd like to keep if I get the space.
anyone happen to know if they are easily sexed?
Males develop a nuchal hump and have more pointed dorsal and anal fin ends. That one looks male to me.

is this fish a pred like the jaguar? His jaws look like my former dovii's......
these guys are very aggressive if it becomes the dominant fish.
they'll eat just about anything.

That pretty much fits the criteria of a monster fish isn't it?
