Saw him at a local aquarium...

anyone knows what he is?

It's a Paratilapia sp. small spot, aka Paratilapia polleni, a Madagascan cichlid that maxes out around 10 inches. Very cool fish!

definitely another small/midsized cichlid I'd like to keep if I get the space.

anyone happen to know if they are easily sexed?

Males develop a nuchal hump and have more pointed dorsal and anal fin ends. That one looks male to me.

niver seen one in person
look like great fish

pollenis rock. Shark a has them from time to time rayman. Very striking
and beautiful fish.

is this fish a pred like the jaguar? His jaws look like my former dovii's......

these guys are very aggressive if it becomes the dominant fish.
they'll eat just about anything.
