#1 was my second pick only cause I'm a saltwater fish keeper lol. Both photo's do the species justice hard to choose if you look at them both from a photographer's point of view and not an aquarist.

i know 11 isnt winning at the moment but i still voted for it coz the lighting, placement, everything is so professional ....its perfect
pic 1 does catch the eye...infact its quite amazing..... but if u notice the whole fish is not captured in the photo...however its so dynamic that people tend to overlook this fact just for the sake of the beauty of the pic
who shot 1 or 11? I was wondering if i could use and or modify your pic...with your permission, for the tshirt contest?

If your refering to #1 rod, the only thing done to that pic was a little clean-up of dust. The backround is black because of the overhead flashes and the position of the fish in the front of the tank when I took the shot. He was actually out of the spot I wanted him in to take the pic and this was the result.
Alot of gret pics again this month. Love the POTM!!!

I thought #1 #11 and #14 are amazing shots, I thought for sure people would vote either #1 or #14. I voted #11 because I can appreciate saltwater more than fresh... and the color on that lionfish is amazing! great picture!

The picture was taken in almost complete darkness with overhead flashes. The fish was actually just forward of the "sweet spot" that I was trying to get him in. Camera is a Canon 5D. The settings for the pic were, f 18.0, shutter 1/200, ISO 200. The pic was shot in RAW format and I used CS4 to clean up some of the dust and brighten it a little. The backround was already blacked out due to the lighting set up and were the fish was.
