How many plecos in a 55 gal. Like to set up a tank with a lots of bottom fish.Plecos being the main focus point. Then some loaches and small cats. What do you think.

With all that you are looking at a big bioload. Also depends on what kind of plecos you are looking at. If you go with a Hystrix or Adonis, two but not for even close to 2 years. Smaller species like L046, L260, L104, those that stay under 6 inches maybe 5. You will be looking at quite a bit of aggression, so use lots of bog wood, and lots of hiding spots.TOM A. said:

No don't use cedar. I use oak, and malaysian. I buy the malaysian, and no longer have any oak. You can use woods found near oceans or river, but be wary.
Cedar oil isn't very good for the aquarium. I know that the acids in it can blind Guinea pigs and rabbits, and is not recommended.
