I was thinking of naming it, after Robert Duvall's recent movie, Assassination Tango... I like the part when an old tango dancer tells Duvall's character (a hitman): "Tango es vida" (tango is life), and I like real tango.

Moves like a tango dancer... but eats like a chomper!

"Assassination Tango"... That could be her competitive name for the upcoming arowana races :)

Thank you. I would like to be a better aquascaper (next tank :)). The fish seem to be doing well, however.

Nice arowana you got there. Mine (6'') jumped out through a small gap in the tank cover and died.

I live in an area of the U.S. where it can turn very cold for long periods during the winter months. (My house is also old and drafty.)

I know, sometimes I think BC (AT) must have been larger when I got her (19 days ago). It looks as if she has grown 2 inches in that lapse of time!

I am sorry about that. In 83 or so I had a Black Aro--my second try at raising one--and it also jumped out through what I thought then was an impossibly small hole. This is the fourth time I try.

Yes, aros are known to be able to spot even the tiniest opening and they will wiggle thru it amazingly... this is why..all my tanks care having glass cover plus lightings to add weight on it..

Yes, it is amazing! It is now almost twice as big as the smallest bala and clearly bigger than the largest bala (perhaps 1/4 larger), in only 19 days.

After working today, I went out for a while to look at fish in some stores. I saw a nice looking jardini, very well-fed and about 6".

I also saw some albino bichirs (polypterus), but my tank is overstocked as it is right now with all those balas and a pleco.

The bichirs did look good, though.

I hear you there, sometimes paranoia is a good thing.
