Butterfly fish, giant danios, congo tets, glass cats, glass fish, dwarf gouramis, any non fin nipper larger than 1 1/2 inch but not longer that the angel's total length.

Bolivian and German blue/gold rams, kribs, spotted and striped raf cats, other angels, possibly discus, ancistrus, corydoras, dwarf gouramis, blue/gold gouramis, clown loaches, swordtails, halfbeak livebearers, blue acaras, and I'd possibly have to say, anything larger then 2 inches that are calm and peaceful. They can also be kept with O's.

Angels can be kept with: German blue/gold rams, bolivian rams, various types of plecos, oscars, hatchetfish, brown and black knife fish, striped and spotted rafael catfish, clown loaches, kribensis, Discus ( usually depends on the fish), bichirs, otos ( If large enough), blue acaras, and really anything over 2 and a half inches, and peaceful.

I wouldnt keep an angel with an oscar or blue acara or any of those other semi aggresive south american cichlids. I keep mine in a large community tank with some full grown platies, dwarf gourmis and some bigger tetras.

I have mine with the following:

3 widebar dats
3 indo dats
1 black aro
3 atf
4 brycon dentex
1 pbass
1 lungfish (SA)
1 A. falcatus
1 marble goby
1 sheatfish
2 snook
2 jd
1 royal knife
1 BGK
1 dolphin mormyrid
1 severum
1 jurapari
1 tigrinius
1 fire eel
1 ripsaw cat

yeah, its a badass tough angel. Has been permanantly housed with this group of bruisers for a couple years. NO problems EVER. He is tough and mean. Put another agel in there one time and he killed it. He eats chunks of smelt and market prawn

Make your angel a BADDASS, not a girlie-fish!!!

I've kept them with swords, senegal bichirs, leaf fish, ropefish, knives, killifish, corys, plecos, african clawed frogs, red clawed crabs, paradise fish... their favorite neighbors are other angels :)

Just don't put them with something small enough to fit in their mouths or anything with finnage that you happen to like looking at.

Angel's are generally peaceful, but can be aggressive eaters and do become territorial while breeding. In the past have had loads with them my dad always had them in his tanks have had Gourami,Larger Tetras i.e Bleeding Heart Tetra,Black Phantom Tetra,Congo Tetra,Bala Shark, Rams, Apistogrammas, corys you get the idea dont keep them with fish that nip fins like Barbs:thumbsup:

My six adult angels live in a 75 gal. long with 4 julii corys, 8 kuhli loaches, 1 zig-zag eel, and an ever fluctuating number of neons. Everyone gets along quite well, with the exception of the neons who get picked off occasionally by my koi angels. The neons all started out as generic "small feeders". Some were either smart or quick enough to escape predation......at least for a while.

yeah i've kept discus, african butterfly, corys, trichogaster and dwarf gouramis, apistos, rams, geophagus are also good, spiny eels, (fire eel, peacock, tiretrack, etc.) banjo cat, black ghost knife, elephant nose, and probbly more stuff that i cant think of right now in with my angels. they were pretty much adults when i gave them tankmates though, but if they start breeding get tankmates separated, the angels will tear them apart. (trust me)
and if you add discus, watch out for internal parasites definately! but yeah definately consider geophagus. (geophagus, satanoperca, whatever...) i have jurupari and surinamensis in there right now, and probably adding a balzani.

I currently have 4 housed in a 75 gallon tank with 15 cardinal's and 3 skunk cory's.

I know it's considered a no-no by some but in the past I've kept Discus with Angels with absolutely no problems at all.

As have I......well, almost. The only issue I ever faced with putting those two species together was the aggresion the angels do exhibit when they spawn. Other than that, it worked really well as the angels were always out in the open in the midlle depths and the discus were usually a little closer to the bottom and more prone to hiding in the plants.
