McKenzieco.com (Stacey, Michigan) farm raises Shovelnose Sturgeon (Scaphirhynchus platorynchus (to 3ft)) and Lake Sturgeon (Acipenser fulvescens (to 6ft)). They have a minimum amount for ordering. I don't recall what it is, though.

here ya go pasted

hey i started the thread about sturgeons and on the link you gave me they sell baby paddlefish do you think that i could keep one of these in a big enough pond or do they need a strong current

They don't need a strong current. However, they do require a high DO percentage. So, maximum aeration or a degassing tower would be needed.

cool they wont eat other animals will they i dont know much about paddlefish... i was hoping to have a sturgeon or two maybe a paddlefish some turtles and a couple albino bullfrogs think that this would work and oh yeah after going to that wbesite i want a golden trout or two

Paddlefish (Polyodon spathula) are primarily filter feeders and they grow to 6ft. Young ones can be trained to take floating food and krill/plankton/FD gammarus is just fine for them. They'll also start taking small fish and other animals once they hit about a foot long. Turtles are a bad idea for this pond since paddlefish are scaleless and sturgeons will just sit there until they're bitten by the turtles. Frogs will become part of the paddlefish's and sturgeon's diet. As well, the trout when they're small.

Paddlefish are VERY tough from what I have heard. You would need a lot of current to keep food aloft as they are filter feeders.

Wow, I didn't think you could train them to take food, I thought that they just swam around and ate whatever went through.

usmc tanker, the ones in the columbian are white sturgeon, and they grow to about 12ft, last time i was over there, the salmon were heading upstream to spawn, (its a sight to see them swimming under the docks *massive*) i saw a sturgeon jump, that kind of turned me off to swimming in lakes for a little while, even tho i know they wont eat me, theyre huge! I can only imagine a beluga

i have 14 sturgeon adrac, shortnose and sterlets are what i have had.the sterlets get 3 feet and20 pounds we sell them at are store for $29.99 there cool i have had the albinos too.we do not use chillers amd our water stays around 65 degrees.there are NO sturgeon that can live in a pond less than a thousand gallons.

there are two species of stugeon that live in virginia the atlantic stugeon and the shortnose.the shortnose is a new species to va.they lived in the chesapeke bay 200 years ago intill over harvesting.they are native to the delaware bay and are coming down a canal into the bay. just think thats cool.

illegally lol. All species of sturgeons are illegal to catch. (blasted russians.... after hte USSR fell apart, they stopped the sturgeon breeding program which means higher priced caviar lol)

the ones in Florida aren't as rare as you may think, people have been getting hurt by them jumping into boats a lot recently. One guy got hit by one while he was jet skiing, just jump up in front of him. I think it broke his face.
If you want to go hunting for them this all happened in the Saint John's river, not sure what part though.

I wanna go and just look for them. I guess they would be atlantic, unless there is a gulf.
