Hi,
Recieved him fine on Friday morning, my fiance unpacked him, for what I can see there were all the comforts a catfish could have, heat pack, double bag and his favorite plastic tube, which he loves and moves around the tank when he fancies a change of scenery.
Also when an seller tells you a fish is a certain size you usually have to half it, not with Dan, he said 9 inches and this major lump of a fish is 9inchs and 3 inch wide.

Thanks Dan

Rich

Glad Jabba made the trip to his new home ok :)
He will soon be eating you out of house and home once he gets his appetite back.
As for size, I try to be as sure and as real with the size as I can, I will not lie about a fish size, aggression, behaviour or anything else to get a sale.
Look foward to see pics of him in new home soon.

Jabba moves about during the day and has tried to take out a bichir, he gave up and I gave him a king prawn, he isn't hand feeding yet...

Dan,
Did you ever keep Jabba in the company of other of his sort? I'm thinking of buying another if they like their own as company, however I can see the answer being a no. Can you get hold of more?

I only had him in with me serrasalmus altuvei
Best to ask in the catfish section for advice on keeping two together.
I personally think it would be ok but I could be very wrong.
I can still get them, but dont know when next orders going into them as got a lot coming from Peru end of this month.
I take it you like him them.

Jabba is a true monster.
Anyone after a true monster should get one of these, he will take on anything he can.
I don't think he can get into his tube anymore, he's grown too large I would be interested how big they get, on his diet of king prawns and silver sides i reckon quite large.
What other things do you have coming in?

Good to hear from you Rich

I miss that guy, you are right he is a true monster. The large one I had out grew his tube but still insisted in trying to squeese in and made his two fins get a bit sore.
You'll have to go to hardware store and try get a piece of larger diameter pipe.
I beleve (according to fish base) they only grow to around 12".
Have you got him hand feeding yet?
I take it your happy with the "little" guy then :naughty:
As for what Ive got coming in, see the whos interested thread.
