Hi, my cichlids are 1 inch, i wonder if i can add tiger botia(i don't know if this same as clown loach), i want to add blue tiger botia, does it have hard armor, or can it be used as dither fish.

What species are these cichlids? At their inch size, tiger loaches are not an option. These are nasty pieces of work and can brutally beat your cichlids.

i want to know if cichlids will kill them, tiger botia are aggressive, i don't think it can kill red texas, kkp and red terror.

I never said tiger loaches can kill however they are still nasty pieces of work if you know what I mean. I had kept tiger loaches and these are not your average community fish that would not defend itself.

I had a modesta kick a 4" Salvini out of a cave. Having said that, I have a 3" Hymenophysa with a 2" Motaguense. It's a risk.

Two different fish.

What type of cichlid? SA/CA, Vics., Mbuna, Tang.

have to agree with you on that part

depending on the species of cichlids-

I personally would not even put those loaches with what I got for my south american cichlid collection myself as mines very mild with aggression bar none to mild compared to other cichlids

THOUGH i would love to see one specific central am. cichlid- cutteri and those loaches if they can co-exist

i keep tiger loaches with my african chilids. they like to spare...

just make sure the cichlids are not so big that they can eat the loach and your good (small cichlids and big tigers are a bad idea too)

if you have a big tank, you will be fine

I think we should clarify exactly which "Tiger" species is in question. Botia Modesta are nasty little punks (I hear), but if you're referring to clown loaches (Chromobotia Macracanthus) as Tigers, they are much more peaceful.

Ive got a pair of 4.5" S. berdmorei in a 6x2x2 with a large group of clownloach and assortment of plecos, cats, oddballs and cichlids and they are very hyper and rather nasty loaches, and actually squabble and fight a bit with a redtail cat
