Hi nice catch. How did you catch? Rod and line? Bate etc? Also i have read that the longnose gar eggs are poisonous to humans and should not be eaten. Is it the same for them?

I cheated and caught it in a gill net. It ss the first gator gar I have seen in that area. Caught about 100 spotted gar in the other nets, they are a pain to get out.

Um redtailfool I think it's called an alligator gar not crocodile gar.
I know it's not Monster, but I caught a 2lb Freshwater Drum, and I love these fish. Their shape is different, and they are a nice blue coloration. I will consider keeping one if I get a huge tank.

Definitely an underappreciated fish. The blue coloration is great, even though they probably taste like crap. I let them go, but I would love to keep them in a tank.

I hear the maet on the smaller ones is good, but I would rather eat red drum. Gonna have grilled snapper and rainbow runner tomorrow mmmm. I've kept 2 little drum in a tank. They did'nt do well. They ate, but not much then died.

Do you eat fish every day? We will call you Mercury man! He has the volume of a 125 pound man, yet weighs 350 pounds!

Not every day, but I do have some fresh king mackerel for maximum mercury intake.
