I have been posting pics here for a while and figured I would post a new one. He has recently been moved and spawned with a female ZZ. He is fertile! I think I may be looking to sell him to make some room though. I am also not sure what he is worth. Here are some pics of his progression:

The most recent one, he is still a little stressed from the recent breeding. His tube has retracted though.

Let me know what you think.

Breeding was kind of an accident. I moved him to a divided tank with another FH on the other side of the divider. I was not even sure of her sex as she has almost as much kok size as he does and she has never laid before. She laid her eggs on the bottom of the tank and some on the divider and all but a few hatched today.

BTW, what is the harm breeding at the 4.5" to 5" size? I usually do not breed anything until it is close to or at full size but I was just wondering. Oh yeah, the female is just about the same size and I have had her longer than the male.

breeding of smaller fish leads to hampered growth

and this one still has a lot of potential to get before he starts getting busy :D

I've never heard breeding fish slows down their growth. Do you have any info/sources on this? I'm interested now.
