So here is a picture I found of a "Ghost Zebra". It is a hypancistrus zebra, but is a color mutation. The colors didn't fully mature.
that is simply the WORST looking pleco ever and i bet people would pay tonnes for it

no kidding, it doesn't even look like it should be alive.
I would buy it, but not for Zebra Pleco prices.

The person that bred that would probably sell it for more than a zebra, calling it a rare mutation.
:naughty: lol thats what i'd do

sell it for twice the price of a normal zebra, and go pick yourself up two normal zebras. HEHE

I think that's the plec that's on aquabid right now as a Zebra hybrid for over $200.

Well sort of. They are both just color variations of the commonly known L046 H. Zebra. However the one in the picture above is said to be offspring of 2 L046 and that the rest of the batch turned out with normal colorations. The one on aquabid looks to be an L098. There are some that just are color, or in this case pattern, variations.

Here is an example of a pattern mutation in L046.

The ghost is ugly, the one with what looks to be an eye on its dorsal is awesome.
yea, can u find anymore pattern variations like that?

Finally this is the true variation of the L046 Zebra... The L098 Hypancistrus Zebra. I have some more pics of the variations, but I would have to scan them.
this is another vairation, L173

that looks like a cross between a zebra and a king tiger
yea its just the squiggles that throws it off, but it does have the trademark shape of a zebra

I just looked at the picture again... its an L173, which is a Hypancistrus, but not a zebra. That is the standard look for them, although occasionally you end up with one that has the pattern of a zebra, but with yellow instead of white.
what, i said it was an L173? L046, L098 and L173 are all Hypancistrus zebras, theyre varients of the same species in the same way many plecos are
