I took some pictures of the tank and fish. They spawned AGAIN last night, I got some pics of the spawning and caretaking of the eggs (which they will probably eat again, lol).
This tank is still VERY much in progress- was set up on July 5th. Currently home to mated pair half-black veiltails and 5 flame tetras. I still have yet to put the black background up, and I will add driftwood (I have 1 piece soaking right now). My picture taking skills are horrible, I really wish I could do these beauties justice and show you guys their awesome color.

Hi Jen. Good job with the photos. The angels are beautiful and the tetras do compliment them nicely. The tank is really coming together.. Sue:D

Thanks...I was so worried that the tetras I picked would clash with them, lol.
Quck question Sue- if they spawn constantly (if this 2x in a week isn't just a fluke) will haveing a group of Bolivian Rams not be a good idea? I know Cichlids can get mean during breeding, I just wander if that is too many breeding fish for fights? Or maybe it's not because Angels & dwarves are typically less aggressive than other Cichlids.

Nice angels, luckily your pair decided to lay on a leaf... mine thought the intake pipe for the filter was a great spot... :irked:

Oh no! She tried cleaning the heater but the male shoo'd her off. I am going to have to get a heater gaurd They ate all of the eggs last time, so it doesn't really matter where she lays them, I just don't want her to get burned or anything.
Mine really like the onion plants- they spawned on those both times, a diffrerent plant each time.

haha angelfish are funny... yours spawned on two different plants, yet mine will only spawn on the intake pipe...
mine spawned maybe ten times and now haven't spawned in about six months... very odd.

Funny is right! I just put them in the tank less than 2 weeks ago, lol. I don't want fry- my temp is at 76 degrees, my water is not very soft (medium hardness)-yet they lay tons of eggs. My kids think it's cool though. And my mom thinks I should set up another tank to raise the fry in, haha.

Since I'm a teen, I still live with my parents, so my dad (this is so like him) wanted me to save all the eggs and hatch them just to make money:irked::D... whenever i have him take me to a lfs, he always says "Ten dollars for a tiny angel! Look at how much money you would make if you raised them..."
I don't really care to raise them because the babies would be a mix, veil tail silver female and gold regular tail male...
now if i had Altums i would do everything i could to raise the babies:D

Hi Jen.. I think you will be fine. IME, the bolivians stay mostly towards the bottom and the angels nearer the top. The angels can get really aggressive to their own kind and less so towards other types of tankmates.. As long as you don't want to raise the babies, I think you are fine.. They will all eat each others eggs/free swimmers etc so there will only be a few days of aggression really, if any, against the other tankmates.. Even your tetras may try and eat the eggs..especailly when you get a larger school. My large school of rummys would totally desimate a discus spawn in a matter of minutes and there were just too many for the discus to watch:ROFL::ROFL:.. IMO, I wouldn't worry about the agression between the different species.. Just have fun with the tank.. you are gonna love the bolivians trust me.. they are so fun in a group. Mostly the angels will keep to the angels and the bolivians to the bolivians.. Take care and pics when you can... Sue:D
