Does my A. Adonis count??? They are very similar, I just prefer the spots to the solid black.

lol yea, i know that, but it would be a lot of tank space, where i can keep a lot of things in its place. anyway, is any of them a pic of yours?

I didn't own a digital camera back when we had that monster. I do have pics of our little A. Adonis though.

Adonis is common compared to this species i find. And much more "cuddly"...

Sorry dude, only qualifies for this spiked monster. :naughty:

Yeah, but I prefer the A. Adonis, I had the Hystrix available, but passed it for the adonis. When my new tank is done I might be looking at one, but haven't decided yet.

They are beautiful in their own way too. They have these iridescent colors on them from their little spikes. Looks really cool to see the silver iridescence on the velvety black.

Plus they look much meaner and more evil than Adonis hence i love hystrix.

they do look more "rugged" than the adonis, but each to his own. best way to solve that is get both!

DO IT! I'm taking a trip to a reported really good pleco store later this week. I had never heard of it before, and it is about 1.5 hours away. Supposedly the other day a friend was up there and they had quite a few plecos all labeled with there L#s. We'll see if they are right!

i prefer the birdseye view shape of the adonis

WyldFya

I like both, just had room for an adonis so I got it. Someday I will own one of the Hystrix, but that will be later. My list of plecos is growing by the day.

That one isn't an A. Hystrix, it does appear to be either an acanthicus or pseudacanthicus. Could be an A. adonis, but unlikely.
