My girlfriend just got a new blue mystery snail and when I was adding it to the tank I noticed a very small brown worm inching along the glass in the gravel. I wanted to treat for parasites but didn't know if there were any precautions to take with dosing a snail, and she doesnt have any other tanks to qt him in right now. So, are snails overly sensitive to meds or anything weird or should I just go ahead as normal?

Get a photo of the worm and remove the worm as soon as you see it. Don't jump on the conclusion that these are parasitic. Chances are you just encountered detritus worms which are pretty much harmless but indicate overfeeding and poor water conditions. Anything used to destroy parasites or even harmless pests, will also intoxicate and kill your snail. Snails are more sensitive to chemicals than fish.

its probably planaria or detritus worms. Increase your vacs, decrease feeding. Snails will not tolerate most meds so I would not recommend treating the tank.
