These are the coolest barbs I've kept so far. Not nearly as skittish as the more common large barbs like tin foils and yellow fins.
Feeding time with these fishes are awesome. Although can't be compared to the peacock bass, these guys are pretty aggressive eaters. My group of 10 will eat anything, pellets, shrimp and worms. I remember once my little Lates calcarifer was trying to grab a piece of shrimp from the Hampala barbs. Well, the Lates grabbed the shrimp, but the Hampala grabbed the Lates!
These guys have a HUGE mouth compared to the tin foil and the yellow fin barbs. Their scales are also very shinny metallic scales with green sheens. The cadual fin are red with black edges. A very beautiful barb indeed.
My next target will be the GIANT Tor species. :headbang2
