View Full Version : Finally got to go collecting!

I finally found some time to go to my favorite creek with a siene net and a couple rods. My friend and I managed to net some nice fish including, juvi bass, bluegill, longear sunfish, all sorts of darters, all kinds of minnows, and crawfish. On the rod and reel we caught spotted bass, large mouth bass, small mouth bass, rock bass, white bass, and a long ear sunfish. With my hands I caught two snakes. One crawfish snake and a mean ass banded water snake. I also found the largest snake skin I have seen in my life! It was over 4ft long but it was only about half of it! We also caught a couple toads, bullfrogs and a leopard frog. My buddy had the catch of the day though. A nice 4lb+ smallie. For a small creek only 10 minutes from downtown Louisville I would consider that a trophy! I have some pics. My camera sucks balls so I only took a few. We will be going back Thursday with a better camera.

upload the picks to photobucket then copy and past the "img" adress under the pic you want to post to your message, repeat for as many pics as you want.

i wanna see pics, congrats on the catch, and wtf is a crayfish snake? have you ever found pickerel? ever considered shipping a pickerel?

Some pics....I hope....
We went again last Thursday with a better cam but I do not have the pics yet. The weather was bad so we did not do as good collecting. Again here are the pics from Tuesday if I can get them to work!
Hooray I got pics now! Anyhow, blue, we have not caught any pickeral. We catch a TON of awesome stuff though. If you have somthing in mind and odnt mind paying for shipping I can send you anything you want jsut let me know. Ill try to add a pic of a crawfish snake....They are cool snakes and as a rule do not bite. They have a foul musk though when you first grab them!

Sorry, I didn't mean for it to sound interrogating. I was just curious as to the species of some of the fish and area, drainage or stream are sometimes the only way to know with so many species looking very similar in adjacent drainages.
