At first I thought that she was just getting fat because she was eating too much, because she's the alpha and a bully.

I tried giving a pea but it did absolutely nothing and now her stomach looks like a balloon. She keeps to the top of the aquarium where she can not only lean against something but also gulp the air that she needs.

It seems like one of her tank mates is also coming down with the condition.

I have 4 female betta and two are affected with one, as I've written, very, very far along.

My water condition can not be bad because my cory cats have recently bred. Unless I was ill-informed and they breed regardless of water condition.

I have not been the one feeding them recently so I do not know if she's still eating. However since I will not be working today I will be able to feed them tonight.

What can I do at this stage? What can I do for the other one that is having this condition?

I do not have a hospital tank so I will have to treat the whole tank. Which I was going to do even if I had a spare tank.

I have these Jungle Tablets that are made to stop Dropsy, Fin and Mouth Rot among other things. Will these help at all?

Also, I think I may have some Epsom Salt.

The aquarium is 18-20 gallons. How many tablets would I put in and how much Epsom salt?

Thank you. :(

Well I just added 2 tablets of the Jungle stuff. Before I did that I dropped in a few freezedried blood worms and she ate them.

I hope that's something of a good sign.

All i need to figure out now is the Epsom Salt amount.

do a water change before and after treatment. and how many goldfish do you have in that tank, they are extremely messy fish and they make the water quality very poor. each goldfish requires 10gallons min on their own. i also have read that its approx 1 tsp of table salt to 5 gallons of water.
