Hello everyone.
This is my very first eel. I caught it a few days ago from a secret location where I can catch heaps of awesome stuff. I was surprised to see it swimming around in plain sight, so thought i'd take advantage of the moment and snap a few pictures. Not only is this my first eel, it is also my first native fish.

Yeah when we first pulled it up we thought it was just some reed before it started thrashing violently about the net haha.
They get about 1.8m maximum size, but it takes about 30 years before it'll get quite that big, possibly more.

Nice Eel. Hope it survives. Me mate caught one a while back and it carked it.

Yah my mate warned they were a bit hard to keep, but he's not a fish person, so maybe he wasn't feeding the right foods. I am feeding tiny ciclid pellets, flake and bloodworm. Don't know if he's taking to em or not, but I hope he does.

The eel did not survive, because of food competition, but i've built a floating nk in a tank so i'll catch another and put him in there to feed.

Pretty sure its illegal to take eels from the wild that are under 50cm........... Theif.

2. Why's he an idiot? He is just lookin out for you. It takes a real bright one to knowingly perform an illegal act and then post it on the internet...catcher:screwy:
3. Enjoy killing your next one. FYI, a predator that is straight from it's natural habitat has no idea what a pellet or flake is... Good luck :grinno:
