I have a very young group of Pundamilia nyererei coming my way; the Ruit to be specific.
I want to know good suggestions for tank mates. I was told Mbunas are better than Peacocks or Haps....but I really want to mix peacocks or haps in there OVER Mbunas.
Tank is 55G
1 x Fluval 405
1 x Emporor 400 with all Bio
Several Rocks and Sand Substrate.
Please feel free to give me your opinion.
Thanks!
Whoever told you mbuna was right. Pundamillia are one of the most aggressive species of vics. You may be able to do it with a HUGE tank...Otherwise stick with mbuna in my opinion.

Ok than, Mbuna it is. Some suggestions to me were the Msobo or the Saulosi Tawianee Reef.
Any other suggestions as for a fit for this tank/setting?
I really like the Polit Lions Cove, Chinyankwazi, Lion Sanga, and Cynotilapia afra Likoma 'Red Top'. Would these do just as well as the Msobo or the Saulosi?

First let me state that I very much respect Bre and her opinions.
I keep PN's and am not in the same camp as far as their temperament goes. I have several PN's together with fish from Tang. and Malawi in a 40 gal.
The key to peace is to make sure your tank has plenty of rock/slate...lots of caves. Ceramic pots are also a nice add to the tank to act as sanctuaries.
Disclaimer: I don't have any female PN's, just males only. The addition of females might add to their aggressiveness towards other fish.
Good luck and post pics of those PN's.
