View Full Version : Red Tiger Motaguense
Some pics of some grow outs from my pair. They are between 3-5" and two of the largest ones have paired up. One of the males has got an unusual amount of red on his face and gill plates as you can see from the pics. Kinda different looking.:) Mike

Awesome pair. Just traded mine a few weeks ago.
Thanks for the nice comments everyone!:)
Ron --I feed them mainly Ken's Fish Food soft and moist krill pellets along with some occasional market shrimp cut up.
Predator Bass-- I would like to see some pics of your golden.
Lostnight--Some of my favorites too.
Here's a kind of blurry shot of their parents.

The red on the male's gill plates looks insane...never seen that before. I'm sure it will only look better one he gets bigger if the red doesn't fade.
Thanks Bobby! Yeah it's different and I've never seen a male like that either.

Of all parachromis, RTM's have this 'look' that sets them apart. I think it's in the eyes. Awesome fish you've got there.

Amazing looking pair:drool:
How old and big are they in the picture? Can't wait till my 7" male start looking like that:headbang2
I would suggest separating the high red male and get him a equally nice female and start a high red male Mota line.

Hey,
Thanks for the nice comments!
Young_rico -- Sorry man,I've thought about shipping but only for about two minutes.lmao!
Synrgst---Congrats on getting your pair. Some of my favorite fish. Males usually tend to get larger with the females having more intense red and large black spots on their gill plates.
Burtle--Funny you mention line breeding.I was just talking to a fellow MFK'r yesterday about doing just that so I've removed the red male and female in another tank. We'll see what happens.
Mad About Cichlids ---I was told the adults are wc so not sure of their age. Male is about 10" and female probably 7". I'm going to try line breeding the red male with the reddest female. I think it would cool to get a strain of some really red males.
Dhull_41--Wished you lived closer. We have two sons that live in Muscatine.
Mike:)
