I bought a Mata Mata turtle today from the Indianapolis reptile show and I need to learn how to attach a picture of it because it is so cool! If you have never seen one you have to look it up and check it out.

Easiest way to attach a photo is click on the "go advanced" button for posting a reply, go to manage attachments, find your photo on your comp, click attach and submit the post.

Mata mata's are one of, if not my favourite turtle. Would love to see pics. Congrats on your pick up.

225 is an awesome price. down here in canada you're looking at at least 500 600 for a baby

Thanks for letting my know what you thought of the price. I thought they usually went for more than I got it for and lucked out maybe sales were slow and just gave the guy an offer. The shell is about six inches and is a gorgeous golden brown/copper color. I talked to the guy and explained he would go in my 220 with my pbass and a few jurupari and he said it would be perfect as long as there were plants at the top and plants that went from top to bottom. It is just slowly poking around the bottom and some of the fish are coming in to check him out. There is no way either is eating each other. I am so pumped! Also picked up some green and black eyed tree frogs, and six different smaller lizards for my five foot terrarium. Best of all my wife condoned all of my purchases.

Best way to get cheap animals is to wait 'til about 1 hour before large reptile shows are going to end - anything left over gets blown out for super cheap because vendors don't want to pack them up to take back home. :D

that's how I got mine for $300, he was selling for close to $500 at the start of the show. Not bad for a full grown mata though
