so im settin me up a salt tank, how much salt am i supposed to put in der? i hear 1 1/2 cup per 5 gallons, that accurate?

The directions should be on the package.

i didn't buy it myself, a friend gave me the tank and i don't have the original bucket, just a bunch of blank white packages of salt.

Oh, okay. I use Instant Ocean, and it's half a cup per gallon. But they may be different, I'm not sure.

Honestly, though, I always find that it's never quite right! I usually add a little less, so that when it's good and mixed, I can test the spec grav. If I need to, I add more.

i put 80 cups of instante ocean in my 155.
refractometer or hydrometer will tell u

you sure the packages are "salt" hahaha. the general rule is 1/2 cup per 5 gallons will raise the SPG .002 i had instant ocean and after i ran out i got and still currently using Tropic Marin and the measurements are the same

i have a refractometer, guys. im not that low. it'd be easier to know the dosage then to just add salt and measure w/the refractometer until i get it right. thanks for those that answered my question.
