I meant to take a picture of my trap and line but I just got finished setting it in the river now.
it's raining cats and dogs and got soaked in the five minutes it took to do so.
I'll check it tonight to see if it has anything inside.
Not sure what to use for bait so i just tied a bit of bread dough inside of it.
same as this one except it is black.

By the way,, This is the river.
Points to whoever can pronounce it correctly without looking it up.
Unless you already know that is.

Bread dough wont last. What are you looking to catch??
You should try canned catfood.
When you get the can open the top only 1/2 way that way the catfood doesn't fall out easily. Dump it in the trap and see what you'll get.
Stay away from oily type ones. Water based is better

I have used bread when I was a kid it worked great, though I was with the trap when working with it. Let us know how it works for you.

There are lots of sm bass perch bluegill eels etc around its just for fun.

Dog food canned or dry works well too..
Also a can of tuna with holes punched in it.

For catching different kinds of catfish, use chicken livers (will also catch crays).

I use a can of sardines to catch lobster in the summer maby that would work as well.
Hey forget I said that .

I have never caught anything on bread. I have caught most of my fish on dry dog food or chicken. Oddly enough, I have never caught anything on fish food either.

We've used raw shrimp with some success. One thing about catching crayfish is that they will eat your other catch. An empty minnow trap also works in certain areas as fish see it as shelter and other curious fish will follow. Good luck.

Shrimp cocktail of heads and tails works for me. So does previously frozen silversides or cut bait.

What about using chum?
I use crackers in my minnow trap.

Try and keep the tank seal tight next time. If I ever kept a chup my family would smoke it and eat it the next time I'm gone.

Have you cought anything in the minnow trap?
I caught a creek chub last year, I put him in with my goldfish. He died after about two weeks. Sudden Float Syndrome.

I caught a 4 inch chub and while in the process of covering the holes by my filters i took a break when I returned he jumped out and was swimming around in back of the filter.
And a small yellow perch also.

I have kept creek cchubs before, they are a lot of fun...eat like horses. I would love to put a few in a 75g or something and grow them to their max size (about a foot long). I have never actually seen one that large, the largest I have caught were probably 5".
I caught mine in a minnow trap, I have no idea how they got in there, I guess they were motivated.

My chub that I caught last night hardly fit in the trap. I have no idea how he got in there. I think that they are very squishy. He is deffinatly more round than the hole.
