Hi guys. I met someone selling me a 12in HOPLARCHUS PSITTACUS. Is it advisable if I can comm him with the rest of my fish? My tank is a 220gallon tank
here is the tank pic

3 endlicheris 14-17inches
1 14 inch cichla ocellaris
1 8-9 inch Indo Tiger

1 4.5-5 inch NGT
and some silver dollars
What do you guys think? I cant buy the fish then return him if he wont be compatible with my comm...

really depends on the fish. since the pbass is pretty big they may butt heads a bit but it is a nice larger tank. mine pays no attention to bichirs but will fight with my datnoid

in general I would say yes...worth a shot, with exceptions due to individual preferences for fish

my datnoid might become unstable if there will be fights with him and the psittacus..currently the IT datnoid is the alpha in the tank..
looks like im dropping the idea of acquiring the 12in psittacus

Im really tempted to get the fish but now I dont want to risk ruining the community.. :(

if the IT is dominant, there will most likely be problems with the psittacus. my psittacus is generally chill. he will occasionally chase smaller fish. the dat is the only one who will stand up to him and is a few inches smaller. the fighting is never anything serious, just flaring and a bit of chasing. if you put some more hiding spots in the tank i think you may be able to pull it off

For some reason my IT has been the king of the tank for several days now. He's been chasing the cichla and slight bullying the other IT's. With being the alpha of the tank now, he is way more stable than before.
The psittacus now I dont think I would get. I wouldnt want to "ruin the community" I have now,,they are doing great :)

Hmm..Im torn. Im really liking the psittacus but he might be more aggressive that I would allow in the tank
