Okies people, I know that the blue ring ocotpus are just lovely and so pretty.. but with a 1 year old child in the house and octopus' having a rep for being escape artist, I think I will go with a none toxic one. NOW can anyone offer a possible place on the web where I can purchase just a regular octopus?

also leave any feed back you may offer on the upkeep, I hear they are rank very high on the level of difficulty to keep.

Octos arre hard to come by not because they are rare but they usually die off in shipping due to the fact they most of the time release their ink and it kills them, Fama Mag has some great places to get one .. also remember to have a octo u must have the BEST of water Quality not only would you not a blue ringed because of venom ..they only live about 18 months in life

good luck

I believe your talking about www.octopets.com. Apparently they shut down and now there is no longer a reliable source for farm raised Bimacs which is a major bummer cause I was going to get one from them.

Yes octopet's has been shut down since they had a lot of prob's breeding octo's. I am still friend's with the person that supplyed the cuttlefish (he sent me a whole bunch yesterday acualy). As for geting a octo. You can get one on www.liveaquaria.com , www.saltwaterfish.com , or just ask your local fish store. They are quite abundent they just don't move fast there for store's don't bring it it. Maby you should try cuttlefish. They won't excape, CB, 6-16 month life span, bond's to you like a dog or cat, I have many and there a great experance, a lot better then octo's.
