Hey guys n' gals, I just returned from my LFS and they have a beautiful Longfinned O :hearts:. and its about the same size as the 2 I have now (3 inch) So it could grow out with the others, which would help them be more civil with each other as adults. I wouldnt want him to be a 3rd man out so I was thinking of grabing another 3" red to round out the group. They would all share a 75 untill about january which should put them all at about 6" when I put them into a 185 with a squad of clown loaches. My question is, would a 185 with boo koo filtration (im takeing lots of pic's for a future post ;)) be adiquate room for 4 oscars? also would the Longfin be at a disadvantage b/c of his fins if he were housed around regular oscars?

Think you'll be fine in terms of stocking. I don't think the lf o will be at a disadvantage in the confines of an aquarium, but I do foresee some tattered fins in that fishes future. I've seen few lf housed with other fish that look great becasue those finds are just too easy of a target.

long finned variations usually dont mix well with eachother thts wht i know but a 18- sounds good with good filteration
