Alright my friend went down to this creek behind his house and it was almost all dried up so he caught these fishand we have no idea what they are. They are like a goldish color with a black line down the side of them. The largest one is about 3-4" long and about .75" tall. Very thin and long. They have quite large mouths but not like a bass or something. We have no idea what they are. Sorry i can't get pictures. Thank you

Chad 55, where are you? I will try to find out what is in your area, or better yet hie thee hence to yon library and check out a field guide to fishes so you can directly compare them to the pics. Did they have soft fins or spiney, large scales or small? More info. Did you tank any? keep us posted.

Well they were caught in southern michigan. They have soft fins, and almost like a tapioca color (like off-white u kno the pudding color haha). I still cant get any pictures because they are not at my house. Sorry about having no pictures. Oh yea they looked like they didnt even have scales and they stuck to the bottom, but they definatly were not a kind of catfish. Im gunna look around.

do they have downturned or sucker mouths? if so, could be a chub, chubsucker... maybe fathead minnow (Pimephales). If the mouths are terminal, probably darters. I don't know the fish from up north very well, though.

I think it might be a brook silverside. Or some type of minnow or shiner, there are lots that kinda match the description.

Maybe a River Chubb. I live by a small creek in NE ohio. Thats all I catch down there, but If I move farther down stream by the dam...pike
