AS I WAS FEEDING MY BICHIRS THIS MORNING I NOTICED THAT MY ALBINO SEN WAS NOT INTERESTED IN EATING UNLIKE MY OTHER BICHIRS, THEN I GOT WORRIED WHEN IT BARELY MOVED, JUST FLOATING ON TOP OF THE WATER WITH ITS TAIL END SINKING ALMOST IN A VERTICAL POSITION, SO I PICKED EM UP AND WHEN I DID, I NOTICED THAT THE SIDE OF ITS BELLY IS VERY RED, I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S BLOOD INTERNALLY OR SUPER SWOLLEN. BUT IM PRETTY SURE THAT IT'S FROM THE INSIDE AND NOT BLEEDING FROM THE SKIN. WHAT COULD IT BE? I'LL POST PICS ASAP. THE PART OF ITS BODY THAT'S VERY VERY RED ALMOST BLOOD LIKE IS THE PART BETWEEN IT'S STOMACH AND ITS GILLS, FROM WHERE ITS PECTORAL FIN IS STICKING OUT. NEED HELP BADLY, HE IS BARELY HANGING IN THERE. HIS OTHER TANKMATES (OTHER BICHIRS) ARE HEALTHY.

Pretty sure its a bacterial infection and you need to get meds right away.

This happened to one of my albino sens once. It went away on its own with no treatment, so I never bothered to find out what it was. Best of luck man.

he is the only bichir that has this in my tank, i thought it's gonna die, it's recovering right now in my quarantine tank. though i added some medications in the water and raised the temp. are albinos really prone to this?
