Preferably want to get one with a uv built in. Have a giant wetdry going on the pond too just want some decent reliable mechanical filtration

There's a pretty decent Tetra brand one with a built in UV, I'll see if I can get the model number and specs of it at work (LFS) tomorrow ~Trent

can anyone give me a quick lowdown on what mechanical filtration is?

filtration of particulate matter

just use some fiber or foam sheet in your wetdry it will be easier to clean and skip the canister

why use uv unless u have a problem with algae or disease then i would correct that problem without uv

Don't you already have a fluval FX5 on there. Why do you want another canister filter, or is this post before you bought it?
