i vote based on how well the fish looks and how great the pic is, not if its a "monster fish"

i think it has much more to do with picture quality them the individual species... I love polypterus but i dont vote for them in the POTM just because of that (unless the picture is worth it :D)

Love #17 and #8 was good too, I also loved #19 because the black backround isolates the fish as if it was in space

It looks to me like #18 has had the background photoshopped out. Is that allowed? It has aspects of a great shot, but, at least for me, that's not what photography is about.

The backround in that tank is black. I did use photoshop to process the raw file and also to clean up some of the bubbles and dust. Sorry if you don't approve Whiskers.:(
