Was ID'd on this website as a pearsii. I'm going by what I was told...

Yup, it's a pearsii ... bocourti lack that large brown splotch over the belly region, and tend to be a bit more colorfull ... not that persii aren't awesome.

Thanks guys. I don't post my cichlids up very often, so its nice to hear they're good looking fish from other fishkeepers. Although I'd still like them even if you all said they look like the bad end of a hippo with elephantitis... ;)

Oh yah, sizes:
pearsei = 6.5-7"
snook = 10" (at least)
friedrichsthalii = 5.5"
managuense = 3.5"
The snook is probably the most attentive of the group. He's always watching me when I'm in the room, and waiting for me to drop in his favorite food, fd krill. He even recognizes the tub that its in now :eek:. He gets all excited when he see's me pull it down from on top of the tank. He doesn't do that with the other foods I give them. :)

Unfortunately the pearsei passed away a few weeks back. I don't know what happened with him. One day he was fine, eating and swimming around, and the next day he was belly up on the bottom, no obvious signs of illness or aggression. Really took me by surprise. He had easily become one of my favorite fish. I'm looking to get another one soon, if I can.
