i am doing a speech in my school about how harmful hr669 would be to the economy and fishkeeping industry. So far i have been unable to find a specific estimate on what the Fishkeeping industry is worth in the U.S., any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

I would stick with the "In 1993, the retail value of the fish hobby in the United States was $910 million."
It is an old stat, but it would be fine for speeches. They probably do not update that number often since it would be difficult to do due to private sales and breeding. Either way, its a large number.
I am Canadian, so I do not know much about hr669, but from what I heard so far, it doesn't sound good.

It's incredible to see how much money is involved in this hobby, but I'm a part of that ongoing madness as well.
All my fish need, they get, and money is not the first thing I think about.
I wonder how much money is going round nowadays.

i think that you should also mention the reptile industry and how much that would be hurt since this bill is focused more on exotic reptiles...

Its not in Canada yet I don't think, but if it passes in the states, odds are it will hit here as well :(
