lol when I saw the look on his face in this pic, all I could think was 'this guy thinks he's a stud'. He's finally starting to bulk up and I estimate he's between 10-11".

Thanks, if I remember correctly, he hatched in August of 2007, so about 2 years 2 months.

Your female's red is intense as hell....
I feed her a lot of New Life Spectrum. It's made with whole krill + I feed her krill two or three times a week. I hear it really brings out the red coloring in fish.

Wow the male is so yellow/gold, even his fins. Sorry to hear you lost them. Imagine what they would look like now at six years.

i thought they recently took them out of amphilophus and put them back into the category of fish with no home aka cichlasoma/ex-cichlasoma. regardless though, awesome pic and i really can't believe the red on your female!

ugh this makes me soooooo impatient to get my tank all set up and start raising some fry im getting:) AWESOME festae pair i hope the female im gona keep will end up at least half as red as yours!
