Does anyone know the optimal amount of light for cichlid fry? I see that when I turn the lights off, the fish hide in the gravel, but when they lights are on, they're busy hunting protozoans, suggesting that the fish will grow faster with more light. Are there any studies in this regard? Does too much light reduce the health, while it speeds up growth? Does anyone have any reference materials/books they'd recommend that might touch this subject?
