Well lost my 12 inch L-25 scarlet pleco yesterday. Had him in a 125 with some haps barbs and an angelicus catfish. Sucks cause I had him for 4 years and now they are impossible to find because of the pleco ban. My lfs in Michigan has 1 about the same size but will not sell him. If anyone has an L-25 L-24 or an L-65 that they want to sell PM me. Thanks,

got any pic of him when he was alive?
Sorry for your lost.. But i dont think you'll be seeing them for a long time.. u can look out for them on Riverwonders.com Aquascapeonline.com or MFK vendor Snookn21 on aquabid.. but L-24 and L-25 sadly are offlimit.. u have China to blame..
It all started because there was a giant boom in Chinese hobbiest buying the fish like it was nothing... and sadly.. Brazilian government capted it and banned it.. most are either from Columbia or illegally smuggled..

Not sure he was just not moving in his flower pot cave on the bottum of the tank. Wish I took some pics. I have seen some L-114's that some shops try to pass for L-25's but the eyes and color are differant.

First time ive heard that China was the reason why IBAMA now prohibit the export of lots of plecs. Could you elaborate?

ditto first time reading this information as well too
but sorry about your loss its really tough to lose something you know that isn't that easily replaceable.
was the haps a recent addition? 4 years seem to be short for pleco of that size
Theres a L25 down at my LFS - about 6'' aprox. long without fins and is going for £60 i believe. Only reason i didnt buy it was its not got the best of colouring and i'd want a pair. Looks more like an Orange Seem pelc (L114?)

L65 is available here sometimes, but I'm in the wrong country, to be of any assistance.
Sorry for your loss!
No recent changes in the tank?

Had the 2 haps for two years a fossie and a champsochromis which both ignored the pleco.

Orange Seam is I think L-47. L-114 is leopard cactus pleco. Well L-25's are like gold in the states.;)
