Hi Guys,

Ive got a nice oak cabinet in my garage, footprint of 4x2', its rock solid and would be perfect for a 4x2x2!

What capacity is that? Calculators say different things... is 100g the general capacity of that tank?

Anyway, my 65 currently houses a 4'' IT, a 4'' AT, a 5'' senegal and a 4'' delhezi. Will be adding 2 of my GFs angels once they grow out.

Could I stock more in the 100g? i doubt I could have more dats unless I was happy to thin out the numbers as they grow, but what about the poly's? could I add an ornate to the mix, or do they need a longer footprint?

and filtration, would an FX5 alone or one of the eheim pros be adequate?
Got 2 AC110s on the 65, and looking to go for minimal maintenance, hence the 100g would be in the garage, on a concrete floor, near the garage sink/tub thing. The tank will be barebottom.

Alternatively, is a 48L, 24W and 18H be adequate (6 inches shorter in height, 85G)

Thanks MFK :headbang2

LXWXH in inches divided by 231 = volume in gallons

example:

4 x 2 x 2' = 48 X 24 X 24''

48
x
24
x
24

= 27648/231

=119.6.... we round it to 120

if this method is to hard, there's always this: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/calc.php

How can that be? my 65 is a 4x1.5x1.5, in theory a 4x2x2 cant be double?

4'x2'x2' - 120 Wide

That is not twice the size of your 65. It's 6" wider and 6" taller.

Okay I believe you guys now :)

So what about stocking and filtration?
Sump is out of the question btw. has to be a big canister. Price doesnt matter too much, but lower power usage preferably - but push come to shove, an Fx5 would be fine.

FX5 Would suffice IMO, The stock seems minimal at the moment, I'd definitly add more bichirs.
