just got my gar a week ago and he is a little over a foot long. it is a florida. well my pacu and oscar picked on him for a while and his tail and fins and mouth are a little messed up. but he is still swimming and he hasnt eaten yet. will he make it.
help please

He will make it if you remove him from that really bad mix of fish.

Congats on the Gar, I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with your other tank mates bothering him. What size tank do you have them in, mind me asking?? Do you have a "Hospital" tank for the Gar, or at least to take out the Oscar and Pacu? Good Luck with them and all the Best for your Gar!!
dont worry too much about it, the fins will grow back fast.. i have mine also attacked by my jardini, and the fins were heavily damaged.. i isolated it in a vacant tank, and in a week the fins were perfect again..
lose the frickin pacu, they are nothing but trouble and pains. unless you have a pond or a 1000gal plus tank.
I've gone through several tanks all due to my Pacu, "Killer" is who 13 years old and has been with me since I was 10 years old. He was my first fish in a 10g and now lives in a 400g and still growing.
Hi I think you have to decide what fish you want more!!!! If you want the gar I would either move him or the oscar and pacu or pass them on to some one else! if you dont want the gar trade/give him away while he can still be saved !!]
