The reticulated, or king tiger, or scribble pleco is pretty cool. L066 and L333. Great hiders, and very shy.

That one pictured above is Fabio's Dad's and it is definitely a male.

Reticulated is just one of the common names for L066 and L333. This one in the picture is pretty large, and pretty big. The coloration fades as they get larger and older. What did the one you saw look like? Being a common name it could mean just about any pleco there is.

The one pictured it pretty cool IMO, but like wlydfya said it could almost be any pleco with all the common names around these days.

The only other pleco I have heard really called 'reticulated' pleco is the Glyptopericythys Gibbiceps.

I have seen a clown pleco called that before, and a larger common pleco.

Would this "reticulated" be Hypancistrus sp. "queen arabesque"/ "zebra queen", L-260? Here's a pic of one. Nice fella... :hearts:
Best regards.
Daniel.
lol was just about to say, get a L260. the colour doesnt fade much/if at all on them too ;)

Some of the adult L260 I have seen have been pretty faded.

depends what you feed 'em. they dont grow to big, so they dont fade as much as plecs that do, esp. if you give them a 75/80% meat diet.

Nah, I've seen some L260s in the 5" range which is about the same as L333 and L066. The coloration was not as intense at 5", but it was fed quite a bit of beefheart and shrimp.

**** me ive never seen one past 4" at all. they usually only get to the 3 and a half inch range. L333 and L066 are different plecs and the L066 hits about 5" and the L333 about an inch bigger

I have heard that, but I had in my hands one of each, Fabio's Dad's and my L333, and they both had hit the 5.5" mark when I got them, and both have hit 6". Coloration on the L333 is generally more distinguished.

I thought they only got to be 4" also, but then I saw this beast! They are absolutely gorgeous when they are that big, but there color also fades quite a bit when they hit that size. Although it still had better color than any L066 I have seen at 2".
most get to about 3 and a half you lucky at4. 5 inches is a real one off
