I notice that all of those are adults, or at least larger than the sell fish. Do they have the odd heads at 2-3"? Pics of the actual sale fish?

these bangana will clean your algae better then any pleco, and it hasn't scratched the acrylic either.

what do they eat

At this time we are feeding them flake food and live black worms, also spirolina Flakes.
